Today I went to Bee Beautiful after reading an article in the April 2010 Balto. County Arrive magazine. I had the mani-pedi special with Sandy and it was very refreshing for my tired aching feet. She also did a nice job with my dried out cuticles and nails. My feet and hands felt 10 years younger. Have already made a July appointment to return for a second treatment.
I recently had the privilege of working with the owner Nancy Boltz and was proud to certify the salon as a Certified Green Business by the Green Business League. Nancy takes "greening" seriously and it shows in her commitment to truly offer a green full-service salon, including using no-VOC paints, ceiling fans throughout, using glasses for drinks, recycled paper products - the list goes on!!! The salon was approved as a "Platinum" member - rarely accomplished on a first attempt. So when Nancy says her salon is green - she's right. Good job Nancy and the team at Bee Beautiful. P.S. I also got my hair cut by Jessica and it's the best cut I've had in quite a while! I will be back. Jean@GreenerPerspectives.com
Did you know that there is a company named Greenspacers who are growing indoor plants in hydro-culture? Great idea to make the salon even greener and safer for the enviornment and your clients. Look them up on the web, I think it\\\'s www.greenspacers.com
Austin, I forgot to tell you how we recycle hair! We sweep up clean, cut hair and send it to a Matter of Trust and they make it into hairmats that naturally collect oil spills from the ocean. We also send long hair to Locks of Love, for children with Cancer. The new program from Matter of Trust is 'GET A HAIR CUT---SAVE A BEACH! WE REALLY DO TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY! ALL SALONS AND SPAS SHOULD!
Dear Austin, Thanks for the interest in my salon. As a salesman for other products, you shamelessly connected to my site but I will still answer a few questions just to be polite.....The SURFACE, DAVINES, and ONESTA lines have a full range of products that we use on guests' hair...and they love the results. There is a color formula for everyone and they can choose how long it will last and just how dedicated they are to being green. By the way, Onesta uses wind power to produce their products and every one of our products is lean on the wrapping. Do our guests love the products and the atmosphere here? You can bet on it. I looked at you lines, Austin....sorry, but ours are wonderful, safe, and affordable.

What are some of the green hair products that you all use? Which ones are best liked by your clients? Do natural dyes and highlights last just as long as the regular ones for your clients? What kind of hair recycling program do you all use?
I stopped in because I was intrigued by the green salon philosophy - I am willing to support all things green! I was impressed by what I saw, so I made an appointment. I went in with out-of-style over colored, damaged hair...and thanks to the genius of Danielle D., I came out looking FABULOUS!! Brilliant haircut and the best color I have ever gotten ANYWHERE!! Very nice atmosphere, the owner obviously pays great attention to being green. Loved the staff.
As a mother of 3 little girls, it's rare to get some quality time for myself...but quality is definitely what I got at Bee Beautiful! Thanks to everyone who was so friendly and professional. Gotta go and make another appointment!!!

I heard about this place and decided to go for a ride and find it. It's easy to find, right off of 83 and Shawan Road, where Shawan meets York. Worth the trip. I loved my hair cut and will come again. The Irish Coffee was a real treat.

Dave, their male massage therapist was wonderful. I had heard that this green salon had just opened and was afraid it was just for women. But it turned out to be comfortable, low key, and very much a place both men and women would be comfortable.
P.S. I also got my hair cut by Jessica and it's the best cut I've had in quite a while! I will be back.
